SWEET PICKLES

Instructions:


One hundred small cucumbers.  Wash thoroughly.  Place in crook, cover with cold water.  Let stand 1 hour.  Lift out carefully so as not to disturb any sediment.  Place in crook, cover and let stand 2 days.  Drain and sort out broken or soft cukes.

Mix enough vinegar to cover with -         

4 chopped green peppers1/2 cup of salt
12 whole allspice12 whole pepper-corns
2 sticks of cinnamon1 ounce white mustard seed

 

Heat to to a boil.  Cool slightly, pour over pickles:  seal in jars.  Let stand 6 to 8 weeks.
