Are you thirsty all the time?
Do you feel as though something doesn’t feel right? Are you urinating too
frequently? Does it take longer for a wound to heal than it used to? Is your
vision blurry. Do you feel lightheaded and weak sometimes and you don’t know
why. If you do, then doctors and nurses will undoubtedly state that it possible
that you have diabetes.
When a person gains more weight than the pancreas is
able to provide insulin for than a person’s body displays the above symptoms.
When you lose that weight than your pancreas is able to work properly. Now there
are always exceptions to every rule. Some people who are diabetics cannot do
anything to keep their blood sugar in control. This is not a guilt issue. Each of
us is fearfully and wonderfully made. Each of also has our individual trial we
face in our lives. Sometimes it is through sickness or disease.
I, however, as a Christian, do not want to accept
diabetes and all the devastation it does to our vital organs! There is a simple
way to defeat diabetes in your life. Diet and exercise! Yes, simply eating
properly and exercising on a daily basis can bring your blood sugar into control
for most people. Diet: 1)
Have 2 to 3 servings of whole grain bread, pasta, rice or cereal a day. 2)
Have 2 to 3 low fat lean meat servings a day. 3)
Have 3 to 5 servings of vegetables a day (limit corn). 4)
Have 2 to 3 servings of fruit a day. (No fruit juices) 5)
Have 2 to 3 dairy servings a day. (Low-fat if possible) 6)
Drink 6 to 8 glasses of water a day. 7)
Have 5 or 6 very small meals a day, instead of 3 large ones. ------------ Exercise:
1)
Take 20 minutes to 30 minutes to walk, run, bike ride, or video exercise
each day. 2)
Exercise to a worship tape or CD to encourage your spirit as you go.
Try changing your eating
habits. Stop fast foods. These foods are full of short chain carbohydrates that
only make your blood sugar higher. Take advantage of all the fruits and vegetables
found at the supermarket or fruits stands!!
