In this passage we are enabled by the promise of GOD
to be there for us, to walk without fear of our finances.
Not only that, we have the ability if we so desire it to know contentment in our life.
This is a contentment that comes from knowing in our heart that our GOD
is able to supply our needs, no matter what they might be.
The first request GOD
has for us is to keep our lives free of the love of money. In this world of
materialism that can be very difficult. It is so easy to find ourselves being
concerned that we have the best of everything in life. The problem that usually
arises is that we tend to spend too much money, get ourselves into debt, and find
ourselves enslaved to the very things we wanted for convenience.
If we love money then we will find ourselves making decisions based upon that very
money. Shouldn't all our decisions be based upon the leading of GOD?
Yes, and amen! Trusting that GOD
will care for our needs and yes, even sometimes, our wants can bring tremendous
freedom. That does not mean it won't be difficult. It is always hard to
take a step towards putting faith and trust in our LORD.
Adversity and hardship, however, can develop patience, kindness, and endurance.
