Romans 8:1-2
"Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in
CHRIST JESUS, because through CHRIST JESUS the law of the spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death."

If we have the spirit of life at work in us, then why do we sin?  We sin because we are imperfect.  When we sin, we feel guilty.  Our adversary (satan) takes advantage of that guilt and whispers in our spiritual ears that we stand before our GOD (our Judge) condemned for that sin.

Now, in a court of law, the Prosecutor will go before the Judge to lay down his case against the person who is accused of a crime.  For the sake of an example, let’s call our adversary the Prosecutor.  We will have the FATHER be the Judge, JESUS is our Lawyer (Advocate), and we will be the person who has been accused of a crime.

Our adversary goes before the FATHER to accuse us, and when he does, JESUS defends us.  When we first asked the FATHER to forgive us of our sins and for JESUS to become our SAVIOR, each and every one of our sins were forgiven.  Not just the ones we had already committed, but all our sins. Past, present and future?  Yes, all our sins.

The FATHER, who is a righteous Judge, looks at us and says; "Not guilty".  People who are in CHRIST JESUS, cannot be condemned.  Does this mean we should sin whenever we feel like it?   No!  In Romans 6:1-14, Paul asks us if we should continue to sin because of grace... He concludes "By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?"  Paul further states that we have been freed from sin so that the law of the spirit of life can live in us, giving us a new heart.

Our forgiveness from sin came at a great cost.  It was provided through the death of the perfect Lamb, CHRIST JESUS.  It is important for each of us to accept our new and open heart provided by Him.  A daily prayer to ask forgiveness for any sins we have committed, whether on purpose or by accident, will take away the power of our adversary against us.  1 John 1:9 it says "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."

Knowing that we are not condemned takes away our fear of GOD and keeps our heart clean and open before Him!  Are you ready to say goodbye to condemnation today?
