In the above passage, Paul is finishing off a teaching about us being children of the free woman (Sarah, Abraham's wife) rather than children of the slave woman (Hagar).  Isaac was the child of a promise from GOD. In other words, he was a child who was given to Abraham and Sarah because of 'faith'. We are saved by our faith in JESUS CHRIST. We are maintained by our faith in JESUS CHRIST.  GOD is the One who does everything for us.  We simply believe and then things start to happen in our lives.  We change, we become more like Him. Simply because of our faith in Him, a work is done in our lives.  

    We don't earn this.  Otherwise we would be like Hagar.  Hagar was representative of the law given at Mt. Sinai to Moses.  The law is rules and regulations that we simply cannot live up to.  We try, but we fail.  When we become saved, we step out of the legalistic rules of the law and step into the GOD given grace brought through faith.

    Leaders in GOD'S body, friends, and family may try to encourage you to follow a list of rules on how one should live in CHRIST.  No makeup, no pants, no television, no movies, and etc.  No matter how good these things sound to us, however, it is by the leading of the HOLY SPIRIT of GOD that our decisions on what each individual person should do or not do in their life.  If it is a wrong choice, it is up to GOD to clean His fish, not us!  

    Join with me today with an open heart before GOD and take a stand to no longer submit yourselves to the legalist rules that can bind us.  Instead, let the HOLY SPIRIT of GOD direct you and walk in the freedom that CHRIST gave us by His life, death and resurrection!
