John
3:20-21 “For
everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds
should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may
be clearly seen, that they have been done in GOD.”
This
particular passage describes two completely opposite people. The first person is
someone who takes pleasure in doing things that harm others; however, they do them in such
a way that others do not see what they are doing. I have known people who call
themselves Christians (even a few that call themselves Pastors) that are practicing these
type of “deeds”. These people sow the wind, and they reap the whirlwind (Hosea
8:7). I, and my family, have suffered at the hands of people such as these.
But in my heart of hearts, I fully believe that I should never return evil for evil.
For GOD says it is His
place to take care of those things. We all can trust that He
will prevail in all these matters regardless of what it is.
The
second person is one who diligently works hard or is very busy accomplishing
something. However, it is not just any old thin, it is keeping our self busy
toiling to do what is right and profitable to the glory of GOD.
That person is not lazy, idle or inactive. On the contrary they are doing GOD'S
business. This could be a mother who is very busy raising her family, attempting
to show her children GOD'S
love by simply caring both for and about them.
It can be a husband, a wife, an
employer, an employee, a grocery shopper, a driver in a car, a pedestrian. This
could be any person. That person has made it their chief goal to honor GOD
in whatever they do. And you can be sure it shows by the good seed that they sow,
and the abundant harvest that they will see on that last day.
Join me today with an open heart before GOD
and determine that we will be that second person. The one who chooses to honor GOD
in all we do. open
