Acts
10:34-35 "Then Peter opened his mouth and said: 'In truth I perceive that GOD
shows no partiality. But in every nation whoever fears Him
and works righteousness is accepted by Him."
GOD
wants everyone to hear the gospel and believe. He
does not look at nationality or ethnic orientation. So regardless of who we are
we are wanted by Him.
Partiality speaks of someone who takes sides. That person is biased
towards one individual over another individual. Another word for that would be
favoritism. When a parent has a favorite child, they tend to treat them better
than the others. However, in this passage, Peter makes it known that GOD
treats us all equally. One is not better than the other.
The Hebrew nation is considered the apple of GOD'S
eye. Yet in verse 35, we see that GOD
is saying that through CHRIST,
people of all nations can be saved. This is exciting! We are all accepted
as the part of His
beloved simply because we believe in CHRIST
and practice our faith.
There are no longer any barriers
between us and GOD
through CHRIST.
When CHRIST
gave up His life on
the cross, the barrier between us and GOD
was torn down. This was symbolized by the tearing of the curtain in the temple
after His death.
In Mark 15:37-38 it states: "And JESUS
cried out with a loud voice, and breathed His
last. Then the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.' The
veil was a thick curtain between the Holy of Holies and The Holy Place. When this was
torn it symbolized the way JESUS
made between us and GOD.
Regardless of your origin or culture, open your heart today and receive
GOD'S impartial
love. |
