Psalm 34:8    
"Taste and see that the LORD is Good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him!"

    I really enjoy cheesecake.  I have it once or twice a year as a special treat.  The first time I heard the name 'cheesecake'  I wondered how you could make cheese into a dessert.  I was at a German Bakery and saw this beautiful dark chocolate colored soft cake with shavings of chocolate all over it.  Now anything with chocolate had to be good, so I tried a piece!  With my first bite, I literally fell in love, it was heavenly.  Sometimes you have to try something to see if you like it, and I did!

    The above is a description of what Psalm 34:8 means.  When the word taste is used it means to eat, discern, perceive, or to evaluate.  Just like I took a taste of a piece of chocolate cheesecake to see if I would like it, so we need to eat the Word of GOD to see that the LORD is Good.  When we do this our life becomes blessed.  In other words, great things begin to happen in our lives.  

    We live in a world where sin is running rampant.  The truth  is that we will continue to have many trials in our lives and we cannot escape suffering of some sort.  However, our GOD is Good, He will lift us up in the midst of trouble and literally carry us through to the other side of it.  He holds us in the palm of His hand!  For those of us who love GOD and call upon His Name, our lives will be blessed!
