In this particular scripture, we find that if a person truly loves the LORD
they are obedient. Obedience is a very difficult thing for us to do. We
naturally strive for independence and we tend to do what pleases us. The above
scripture can even seem to hard if we are thinking of the Ten Commandments. Who
can possibly obey them 100 percent of the time?
Well, the answer is no one can. We can only strive to do the best we can and ask
GOD for forgiveness
when we fall short. What the LORD
did to help us, though was to tell His
disciples "You
shall love the LORD
your GOD
with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all
your mind. This is the first and greatest Commandment. And the second is
like it: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." On these two
Commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets." (Matthew 22:37-40).
Think about it, by loving the LORD
our GOD the very most
we can, and learning to love our neighbors, we can do more to achieve an obedient life
before GOD. What
is our reward? GOD
manifests Himself in
us. That means He
appears, shines forth, reveals, presents Himself
conspicuously to us. We begin to know Him,
and His life flows in
us and through us. What brings this about? An
open heart seeking Him.
Join with me today and pray that we will be able to express our love for our
great GOD
and for those around us. |
