Acts
27
This discussion entails the whole chapter of Acts 27. As
godly women, we each strive to be a person of intelligence and achievement. But
sometimes, we find ourselves resisting the pressure of living up to the undue expectations
of others. Yet, we also need to maintain a balance of listening to others.
Whether
we are a Corporate Executive or a mother who stays home to care for the needs of their
children, the decisions we make are very important. It is expected that we would
make a decision and set a goal; then, follow it through to the end. Sometimes, after
our decision has been finalized, we can close our heart
to hearing godly advise from a 'Paul' near us.
In
Chapter 27, the Centurion, Pilot and the Owner of the ship refused the godly council of
Paul every time he tried to help them with a 'word of wisdom from GOD.
Because they had set their minds to accomplish a specific goal they had closed their
hearts to godly council.
Therefore they lost all their cargo (wealth) and endangered all the lives of the
crew as well.
You may never know ahead of time who the LORD
may send to help assist you in your decisions. As a matter of fact, if you keep your
heart closed to GOD'S
council, you will be like a ship tossed to and fro, never safely reaching your
destination.
Why not make the decision today to open
your heart to GOD and
accept the help HE sends you
from your husband, Pastor, Biblical Counselor or a Paul.
In doing this, you will be sure to thank GOD
as you reach the shore safely!
