2 Peter 1:5-8
"For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love.  For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our LORD JESUS CHRIST."

    Now that we have fully discussed these essential traits for the Believer in CHRIST, we are instructed to keep working them into our lives in increasing measure.  Not everything in life comes easy to us, and that definitely includes spiritual things.  Some godly traits must be practiced, tried and tested before we are confident we have allowed Him to alter our hearts in any particular area.

    An important desire of our hearts is to believe that our lives mean something to those we love.  That our family is a better family because we are the center of our family.  That our friends enjoy our friendship and special times because of what we bring with us.  And how we believe our Church is more loving and effective because we gather together each week in sweet fellowship with the members.

    And now we come to the most important reason for everything we have added to our hearts, that our knowledge of our LORD JESUS CHRIST would not be found lacking by being ineffective and unproductive.  Our godly character, and maturing knowledge of Him prepares us to help one another.  And we help one another from the heart that has grown in love and knowledge of our beautiful SAVIOR.
