Last week I talked about Open Heart surgery.  This week I want to talk about the plaque that can be found in a person's heart which may require that surgery.  Lets call plaque sin, just as an example.  Everyone who does not believe in the Name of JESUS is of course a candidate for Open Heart surgery.

    For those of us who believe in JESUS as SAVIOUR, we experienced His divine power in our hearts the moment we put our faith in Him.  One extremely miraculous thing that instantly occurred in us was the cleansing of all sin (plaque) from our hearts.  But when sin is taken from our hearts, what replaces it?   In 2 Peter 1:3 we are told that "His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness."  

    So we need to obtain knowledge of GOD through such things as reading the Bible, personal prayer, attending study groups, and having fellowship with other Christians.  As our knowledge of GOD grows and the relationship we have with CHRIST grows His divine power is at work in us.  Having an open heart before our GOD helps us to live a fruitful life.  As living witnesses of HIS work in us, others will see and sign up for Open Heart surgery.
