Romans 6:4
“We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death in order that, just as CHRIST was raised from the dead through the glory of the FATHER, we too may live a new life.”

    I want to discuss a medical event that is similar to the above Scripture.  In the medical world when a person has a heart attack it is because an artery in the heart is clogged with something called plaque.  This plaque is harmful to us and can lead to a physical death.  If a person has a potential good outcome by having an open-heart surgery then the physician will recommend it for that person.

    While a person is having an open-heart surgery their heart is stopped from beating.  The blood is re-routed through a special machine from the heart area and the surgeon works as fast as he or she can to fix the heart.  In those hours while the heart is stopped, the person is as close to being dead that a person can be without actually being there.  When the surgeon restarts the person's heart after surgery, they begin a brand new life.

    Now when Jesus gave up His life on the cross to pay for the sins of the world, He cleansed the plaque from the hearts of everyone who would believe in His Name.  Because their hearts were cleansed, they went from being dead to being alive (spiritually) and received a brand new life.  

    Each day is a new beginning for us because of the SAVIOUR.  Open your heart and choose to live the brand new life JESUS has provided for you.  Be excited, all those who love the LORD from their heart will be with Him for eternity!
